The face of the government.

korah1They weren’t numbed, they have had lives that they were grateful for; they have loved ones, sense of self and importance, though. They only have lived near/in a waste dumpster; not that they chose it, but the brutal and shameful government has been so greedy to decide on their fate of living there, while the officers are building luxury houses and business buildings out of the taxes they collect from poor, on the lands of the poor… and out of the benevolences they receive in the name of the poor, by the labors of the poor.

Yes, seemingly ‘not’, but true that the helpless victims have paid the government taxes (yeah, income taxes and all others including VAT; as well, other contributions, such as for the dam on the blue Nile). These helpless victims have been responsible citizens that have been so keen to partake in the construction of the country and the wellbeing of the people.

They were so poor, but they never lost their senses for any unfair act. They were soldiers of life, and messengers of God who were left unnoticed. But their momentum has been a balance to all of us though it has been taken for granted. I know, this seems a fairytale, but it is true! It is only that they have had nowhere to go, no other life to live, and no other lives to look after.

Exodus? It even needs an investment; otherwise, they won’t think about it twice. Why would they? Who would? They died while they were trying to live. They were on the dump (and/or near the dump) because they have had nowhere to go. They were very morally responsible that they didn’t look for what wasn’t theirs. Which rich would exist in the city? They rather struggled to make a living out of the dump… had any of us noticed, being lifetimes lessons of walking His walk for theirs and other lives around them.

What happened at #Koshe is one of the disaster-ests accidents human beings can ever go through! People even couldn’t survive going through their lives, let alone through their incidences. It is not easy to wake up to see everything is buried under the dump that they were making a life out of and letting it breathe.

They are champions of life tho! They lived over and near a place that we won’t dare to make a fine walk through. They are the faces of the brutality of the government, and the selfishness of us.

May their souls rest in an eternal peace, and God comfort the grieving souls.

* * *

* * *
* * *

Celebrate wo/men…

womens-day-2110796_960_720It is becoming customary that tragic stories of violence against women are blending our daily news and reports. The increased prevalence rate is somehow positive that it tells about the improved trend of reportings; hence, the incidence is increasingly alarming while it has to decrease with time and access to information.

Imagine the ‘unreported’ stories that happen regularly, and are settled by the intervention of go-betweens; think of women that are threatened by their loved ones, and ill-treated by a species of their kind; think of the society that points its fingers on ‘the victim’ than the ‘violent’; think of a girl’s voice that bounced back from the gates of our ears; recall the sympathies and society level embarrassing excuses for a violent: like ‘she shouldn’t wear a miniskirt’, ‘ምንም ሳታደርገውማ አይሆንም’.

The battle towards women’s rights is every human’s that we all should defend the human race, and speak up for the voiceless majority. Defending women is defending our own beings, houses, and communities. It is a risk that may jeopardize every household, the roots and branches of every family tree, and thus the minds of all.

How dare a bad father can talk about a bad leader? How dare a bad teacher can discipline his/her students? How dare a ‘corrupt’ husband/fiance to his love, can criticize a corrupt boss/authority? How dare a violent man can complain about other violence?

We all should empower women that it means empowering ourselves; it is empowering the society; it utilizing all our resources and excelling life; it is living life to the fullest; it is rationality; it is humanity; it is how it should gonna be. Life is unthinkable without wo/men!

Taking the lion share, no wonder, women should uplift themselves; they should uplift men; they should uplift the society; they should cooperate in the process of generation replacement, and nurture uplifted children as an already determined fate, with the God’s will; that they should say “NO” for any oppression by their most intimate men, by people that they plan and commit their life with; …nor they should oppress anyone, and be civilly and intellectually arrogant.

They shouldn’t expect a miracle to come to their ways to triumph over life, nor wait for someone else to work for them; no one should expect of course! …we all should struggle rather; we all should get together, make comfortable ways and go through altogether. Then, the legacy for children will be a decent place, where life will be cherished, and death will be celebrated.

Wake up brother! “brother Jacob 😉 “, and uplift your home!, empower the executive of your home; never undermine her power, nor take her for granted; respect yourself and never objectify your woman, as saying ‘I love you’ for someone that yourself has dared to objectify is foolishness at its worst level. Never do that my man; never ever, even, when you think, on her foolishness.

Wake up sister! “sister 😉 “, and uplift your home and the lives inside it!, fortify your abilities, unleash the potentials in you, utilize resources, dig for opportunities to come to your ways, be respectful, be responsible and trusted, …and meet your soul truly! …that you will give birth for &rear an uplifted, other things being equal!

To respect each one another, and to contribute for the co
Let’s get changed to change.
Let’s get together, impact the society, and live together.
Let peace be upon our homes.
Let’s promise to ourselves to live in a peaceful state of minds.
We all deserve to live in a violent-free world; we can’t control what is in the world, but our homes/circles are our worlds.

Happy Women’s Day!

Happy Today! Happy Everyday!

Adwa

16999253_1552253318125754_8345020155766985375_nAdwa was not a war. It was an all-time phenomenal battle, where Ethiopians stood up for their dignity and curbed the colony of Italy. It was a victory of mankind in general, Africans in particular, and Ethiopians in very particular. Menelik II was the heroic leader that mobilized the resources, and made the victory true.

Adwa was a moment of truth that we have the power if we have the will… and hate has no place if people are united against invasion, of any form and level; and cruelty.

Ethiopia thought the world, in action 121 years ago that ‘no mountain is too high for people to climb, and no river is too deep to swim’. It showed once and for all that ‘the sky is the limit’ whatsoever; stated a bold, seemingly ‘most unlikely’ fact: if one is determined, all ceilings are glass.

It is akin to David and Goliath. In their battlefield near the valley of Elah, the game changer has been David’s faith in God and confidence, and its impact on his perspective towards the giant Goliath. He slung a stone at the giant Goliath’s head.

Likewise, the patriots of Adwa looked into the battle from mankind point of view, dignity point of view, love point of view, freedom point of view… and they chose to befriend with mankind than live in sycophancy in their own land.

They didn’t cross borders to fight, they counter-attacked the troop that traveled miles to them. They didn’t submissively bow for the flashy life, but they stood firm to defend humanity – in truth and in action. It was brave that they used shields to protect rifles, and spears to fight back.

They loved us to death by their integrity. They fought effectively for our dignity… and the answer has been Victory!
